Lana Del Rey, all’anagrafe Elizabeth Grant, è una cantante statunitense nata a New York. Il suo nome d’arte è la combinazione tra il nome dell’attrice hollywoodiana Lana Turner e quello dell’automobile Ford Del Rey. La cantante ha debuttato nel 2008 e nell’anno successivo ha registrato il suo primo EP: “Kill Kill”. Ha inciso un album nel 2010 dal titolo “Lana Del Ray A.K.A. Lizzy Grant” per un’etichetta indipendente. La sua musica si caratterizza per essere a metà strada tra pop, indie e soul.

Il suo nuovo album, uscito il 30 gennaio scorso, è intitolato “Born to Die” ed è composto da 15 canzoni, tra le quali “Video Games”, il suo singolo di debutto.A fare da traino è il singolo che dà il nome all’album, con il quale la cantante ha raggiunto la vetta delle charts di 11 paesi in sole 24 ore. Il nuovo disco è subito andato a ruba appena è apparso sul mercato: Francia, Germania, Austria, Belgio, Finlandia, Grecia, Irlanda, Lussemburgo, Portogallo, Stati Uniti e Italia sono stati rapiti dal fascino della cantante newyorkese. È già stata definita come la cantante del 2012, prepariamoci quindi a sentir molto parlare di lei e, nel frattempo, alziamo il volume.
